This is a fabulous scene. Without seeing them kiss, we know exactly what is going on. Watch her hand. What she does with her hand tells us what she is feeling and what is happening to her. She initiates the kiss, not him. This scene, along with the one when he approaches her after seeing the painting in her bedroom, are my two favorite scenes in the movie, both acted beautifully.

Filmmakers today seem to think you need to hit the viewer over the head repeatedly and lead us by the nose to feel or think a certain way because they don't have the skill or ability to actually craft a well written and made movie.

This movie..melts my heart! I LOVE watching this..esp..when it's raining outside..while snuggling under a heated blanket. Just my little dog, Finley, and myself..alone. To REALLY make things nice..having a Cinnamon-Apple OR Strawberry-Lemonaide, )O.K..uh...pretty MUCH..ANYTHING by BATH & BODY! Am I RIGHT?, !!), nearby candle burning.
For food - either some great Chinese Food..OR a nice HOT pizza...( EXTRA ..CHEESE..is a REQUIREMENT!).
When ready..just sit, get comfy, order food..and WATCH! I currently do this ALL alone. Someday, I hope to share the blanket..AND ambience..with someone special...🙂

Not sure I agree she initiates. If so why does she walk backwards? Also is this the longest kiss in film history? Close 2nd might be in Notorious but this one much sexier!
