It looks cool but is ridiculously inefficient.

Nope, don't understand this design. you take up a double door space but still can't get your couch through it. Looks cool but useless.

Massive door you can't get your shopping through.
Clever people having a concept of real life that is far beyond science fiction

Unfortunately, this is a no. All I see is little bugs creeping or flying in.

I’ve installed about 30 wood “Rixson offset pivot hinge” doors. One was 6’0” x 6”8. That one was the toughest to get fit perfectly in one shot, but the general contractor never did figure out a proper way to weatherstrip it. Thankfully it was a polished concrete floor that could handle the rain 😂 But hey, it looked cool in the issue of metropolitan home. Google Carl maston architect Hollywood hills residence. It was his personal residence before he died and the owner of goldenbooks purchased it.

An awesome concept! My only question ... is it covered by insurance as an acceptable exterior door?

If the pivot is off to the side and it’s frameless it can be a really nice and unique feature

that just looks like an accident waiting to happen

The pivot doors I've seen don't pivot in the middle like the one shown. If they were in budget, it would be a yes

The doors to head down to the engine room on an aircraft carrier pivot in the middle. It makes it easier to open when there is a high differencial of pressure across the door.

I don't know the price, but I can tell it's out of budget

No. You'll never be able to get parts or service to fix these geewhiz architectural doors later. My local post office got weird doors 35 years ago and they've been broken in one way or another for over 30 years.

Modern door. The offset is usually no more than 12 inches, but you can choose how it opens. I believe this is a display. 😊

Like it, but have a feeling it’s several times the price of a conventional sliding glass door. Now for a 25% premium, I might be interested.

For access of cleaning and making sure weatherproofing is working between *Exterior and Interior* — then yes, MAYBE 😂

No, don’t like it. I can’t think of any redeeming features of the door.

Can it go both ways and that takes away the big use to double doors (cant get big stuff though)

I love pivoting doors, but they do require advanced planning and design.

This is excellent leverage for a break in. Also you will knock an unsuspecting person on their ass.

Well that would work better than a patio door that slides
