Cognitive Load Theory 2 - Working and Long Term memory

What is your memory? Well, there is more than one type of memory. Your short term memory deals with processing incoming data from the world, and with integrating it into your pre-existing knowledge. Your long term memory stores schemas, or interconnected webs of information.

So that's why it's always easier for the students, that attends all the classes and focus on understanding the topic, do not need long time to learn new stuff in opposite to those who do not attend all the classes espacilly when it comes to math. The students that learned the prior knowladge will need less time to connect the new topic to the older topic in the long term memory, whereas, the other needs to process the previous topics alongside the new topic
