hes also not banishable, because banish only gets rid of the monsters that are trying to hurt you, and leviathan is not one of them

For the lord of Envy, Leviathan is quite a swell guy in this game. A demon lord preventing the rise of an eldritch god.

I like to think it made a pact with ancient humanity to respect their territory within the light of the Lighthouse for as long as it stayed lit, hence why it doesn't attack you directly even though it knows you have the Book until you venture beyond the map boundary i.e. beyond the reach of the Lighthouse.

Also worth noticing is that in the "good" ending the Lighthouse itself goes out before the Leviathan gets you to destroy the Book.

NGL the leviathan in dredge is a chill dude just wandering around..but if you panic or getting insane, that is where he attacks

The leviathan to me is a gaurdian of the earth, not evil but a primordial beast of the sea, such as the behemoth of the land and Ziz bird of the skies

The leviathan is 100% some sort of guardian becouse in the Iron Rig dlc when you summon the tentacles they will do a bit more damage than expected and the leviathan goes and saves you. Also in the cold dlc (i forgot what it's called) it is revealed that the Leviathan once fought with a allmighty Narwhail and he won. Turns out the Narwhail is the actual reason our boat crashed in the start of the game. So the Leviathan rips him into pieces and freezes him. Then some idiots get lost in that frozen area and the capitan gets controlled by the Narwhale to sacrifice the rest of the crew by freezing them so yeah. The Leviathan *is* the good guy

I like this theory.
Plus considering the fact it eats the main character and the crimson book in the good ending probably means it’s not taking any chances.
Sure you got rid of the book but you still know it’s dark secrets so to ensure it’s secrets can never be solved and there’s still the risk that the book could still be found by some other poor sap so the best option was to eat them both.
Destroying the last remaining remnants of knowledge of the eldritch horrors and ensuring no one else shares the fisherman’s fate or so some idiot doesn’t wake up cuthulu.







And then the Leviathan went to go play cards with Dave the diver. =D

The leviathan is like Rexy grom jurassic park. Shows up to save the day but will eat you if you mess up .

Tiny’s cool, he mostly just cruises around and only attacks if it looks like you’re either trying to leave or are looking like you’re getting too close to the eldritch horror end of the sanity spectrum.

This game is absolutely incredible! And quite thought out with a new twist every hour keeping everyone ingaged sadly the way the story was set means it probably will not get a sequal
