I like how Sarah deliberately emotes more with her face as Jane, less so as John. Between that and the voice pitching, it helps separate the characters and show how their different stages in life effect their mannerisms and emotional openness / unguardedness.

imagine if john stayed in the past and married jane, years later jane would be a man after she gave birth to her daughter, jane (herself). and then john and jane either ended up divorced or kept their love relationship under gay marriage. and then their daughter (jane) would be a man in the future, just like her parents. so basically there would be 3 john in the future if john stayed in the past to marry his old self

Me personally though, don't consider this the best scene of this strange movie. Best scene of this movie is the one in which she meets the younger version of herself for the first time, and says: "You are beautiful. Someone should've told you that".
