Welcome to Edgewood || EDWD RP

Показать описание
Edgewood was founded over 300 years ago as a sanctuary for the supernatural community. Upon a glance, Edgewood looks like any other pleasant city nestled among the rolling landscape and cavernous forests of western Wisconsin, but under the surface, Edgewood is more than just a pretty city. To the human and supernatural races alike, Edgewood is one thing: home.
What the majority of the world's human citizens remain blissfully unaware of is that the supernatural exists and that it's everywhere—right under their noses! For the longest time, this was due to The High Council—the supernatural government created by the nonhumans, for the nonhumans. Unfortunately, this government quickly became corrupted by those looking out for their own interests. Destruction and chaos ran rampant throughout the supernatural world, sometimes even catching unlucky humans in the otherworldly wrath, but they carried on otherwise unnoticed by humankind. Before long, the Council collapsed entirely on itself, and the corruption seeping from its wounds spread the diseased morals, ideas, and creatures throughout the country.
The Founding Families of Edgewood knew they had to do something before the taint encroached on their precious city and they lost anymore of their kind to the senseless violence, and they had to do it soon. The Families got into contact with other like-minded families and, when the time was right, gathered together to cast the most powerful protection charm the supernatural world had ever seen—a charm that would create a semipermeable barrier called the Veil, allowing innocents to pass through while keeping the new evils that had risen from crossing the threshold, but when they cast the spell, something went terribly, terribly wrong.
Prior to casting the spell, the families had overlooked one major detail: a protective veil of the caliber they were aiming for required a sacrifice—a tremendous sacrifice that would affect the lives of so many. More than half of the magic practitioners participating in the casting the protection spell were killed in order for the barrier to rise. Thus far, their sacrifice has not been for naught. For the past ten years, the veil has done its job, separating the peaceful northern half of the country from its chaotic counterpart and protecting those that need it.
Almost month ago, the veil began to thin, even tearing in some places. Before any action from the founders could be taken, the veil claimed two more sacrifices to repair itself: Jolene Bellerose and Jared Hawthorne. But how much longer can the Founders hope it will last? And what part do you — yes, you — play in all of this?
