What a delight! We visited Adlestrop on our Jane Austen tour two years ago. We investigated the church and met a local orange tabby cat who basked in our attentions. What a lovely memory!

How wonderful to see this. My Great Grandmother was born in Adlestrop and my Great Great Grandfather was a gardener at the Manor House.

Thank you for this enlightening episode. The use of dramatic Dickensian phraseology when describing the beautiful medieval church painting
(...while others are being dragged into hell where the fearsome figure of Satan, surrounded with his Imps, awaits them...) is well worth a watch of this video.
Charles Dickens would have approved. Well done, as always!

Robin, I find it completely, rather, exquisitely interesting the ancient, fascinating history of England and of the entire UK as far as that is concerned. It is so inextricably intertwined with our’s here in the USA. Not that it is a surprise, obviously, because of our colonial past, but more-so because of the names of places and etymology! Real people remembered real places, some so obscure, no one had, or currently has any idea of the origin! So many names of all but forgotten villages, towns and communities re-invented in the USA. Some thriving even today, some who have faced similar fates to their predecessors! I submit, this is very cool!!! Love the show! Please keep them coming!

Lovely video Robin. We discovered St Nicholas church by accident when walking from Daylseford Farm a couple of months ago. What a wonderful place. Along similar lines, I’d recommend a visit to St Leonard’s in Lower Lemington (just north of Moreton). Similar ancient church in a pretty little hamlet.

Love these videos! I live in the states, but my mother lives in Middleton Cheney. Your videos make me feel like I’m in that area again. The pandemic has been keeping me away.
