The 39mm Legend diver is a god-send, but priced at over $3000, is Longines treading on TUDOR's territory?

I can’t believe you disassembled this and painted the hand. You are such a splendid geek. To be fair it actually looks good!

Thanks for all the fun content and I hope you have a great 2024

Longines has so much more to offer to people than Tudor. Tudor had basically become the Black Bay company, but Longines has so many great watches, and their history is much richer.

Longines and Tudor are two of my favorite it's nice to see Longines getting some respect again. My parents bought me a Longines for my high school graduation long I've been a fan ever since.

Have the BB58, BB54 and the now the Legend Diver 39 in blue. The Legend Diver is gorgeous on beads of rice and absolutely can hang with the Tudor BBs IMO.

I’m a fan of that red seconds hand. Well done.

As someone who has kept an eye on Longines for a while, I'd say the biggest knock against 3k for the new Legend Diver is not that you're in Tudor territory, but that you might as well get their Ultrachron. Obviously a very different design, but an affordable high-beat is hard to pass up.

I really like the new 39mm LLD. Thank goodness they didn’t use fauxtina. Great vintage inspired design with a modern take. I like the monochromatic look so the red tip is a no go for me. I think the price is fair but probably needed the quick adjust clasp to help compete. Can’t wait to try the blue one on. But don’t think it will be replacing my BB58 navy blue as it’s just too damn good for me.

Damn that red tip really adds a ton to the watch. Great idea. Had my eye on these but not sure they’re bumping into a must have yet over tudors.

I went for the blue dial (Longines Legend Diver 39), I love it ...but I do agree, with few tweaks Longines could turn it into a true new legend.

love the mid-century look of the Longines! 39mm is perfect size compromise!

I love this new Legend Diver. To me, the fact that it's monochrome is so relevant to its era. The black and white reminds me of watches from the past you'd see in black and white photos. It's just perfect of it is and it will most certainly be on my next watch list. Thanks for the video and have a great 2024.

Longines has been killing it this year. I have the 42mm Zulu Time (green/gold) and honestly think the finish is nicer than my BB58. I was seriously considering the Legend Diver for the next watch, but then they snuck out the 41mm automatic Conquest with seemingly zero fan fair, and it looks amazing. Especially the Sunray Brown dial. I haven't seen one in person yet, but if their other watches are any indication, I'm sure it's a winner. And only $2k.

Calling the Tudor movement "in-house" is generous. It's made by Kenissi. Same as the Longines, being made by ETA.

Finally someone else said it. The Legend Diver is a Ranger competitor, not the BB48, 44 or the Pelagos.

I own both the spirit and the legend diver. Im a bit confused about your comment that the diver case finishing isnt as good. I think the case of the diver is better finished than the spirit. Its also more comfortable.

I hear watches with red paint will be more accurate. 😂 Aside.. looks cool. Brave for doing so to a relatively brand new watch. Thanks for being the ambassador of courage, Max.

I think Longines still has a good price point considering it's heritage.. and, given time and what they may be had second hand and maybe even grey market, they may be an even bigger value prop.

I will say for now, the LLD is more original and unique, especially when you consider how many AliExpress brands and other micros clone the Tudor/Rolex family members.

I prefer the longines heritage diver cause there simply to many tudor BBs out there… nothing special just like a sub!

the hydroconquest gmt is a great option and improved dramatically in 2023

I really liked the paint you added to the hand of the watch. Great decision!
