I just bought a 2023 Mustang GT, Stupid me being a Camaro guy my whole life didn't really know a new mustang body was coming out in a few months. That being said I had a Roush Cold Air intake that said it was only to be used for the 2018 - 2021. I installed it today. I also have the borla cat back system that was put in a few weeks ago. After installation I allowed the car to idle with the new parts to ensure no failure or issue before driving. Took it for a 3-4 mile run and she was fine . No codes yet and issues and sounds better. I felt like the car was struggling to breathe with that old Intake on. I obviously did not dine with the car before and after as I'm just assuming that with the boiler Cat-Back system and the Roush cold air intake I definitely should have gotten my horsepower back + some. I live in FL I could drive a gas can around with wheels no exhaust and I'd be ok. Gotta love freedom!

Sad times we’re living for engineers to have to retrofit something restrictive to meet the EPAs standards. Awesome vid!

Here in NZ, the last of the Australian developed and built performance Ford Falcons came with the "Miami" (Ford Australia's code name for it) supercharged 5.0L, final versions, 2014-2016 made 471 hp, and had an "over-boost" system that gave up to 15 per cent more power and torque, equivalent to over 536 hp and 479 lb⋅ft, when the conditions allow. Have you ever thought about doing a video on the performance Fords developed and built in Australia, there was some real nice Fords designed, built and raced down here.

Removed mine and I definitely could feel the car pulling a little harder.

I was sad when learned I lost 10 hp when I got my 2022 GT. I have already put a CAI and a tune on it. Good to know that it also "fixed" the missing 10hp in addition to the normal gains. Great videos on the subject though, I would have never known how they took way those ponies!

Hey Tony, new subscriber here and really enjoying your channel. I just brought my '22 GT home last week and I'm loving it. Just a quick question regarding this topic though, if I add an entire cold air intake to the car, it would also remove the restriction caused by the factory airbox, right? Seems obvious, but just for clarification.

Thanks!

Want to do this to my 22 Mach1, but would hate for any warranty to be voided. Don't want to be taking it in and out in and out.

Question, Why not just remove the "grills" that previously held the carbon trap in place? They no longer have a purpose, correct?

I saw another YT video where they removed the "cages" *and* the "waffle" that's on the round tube part.... I don't see any dyno numbers from anyone, though. That's unfortunate, but understandable as it's just a "free mod." But it does raise the question of whether we are doing more harm than good. I don't want to mutilate my 2022 airbox lid only to find it actually causes an issue, either a code or a hesitation or anything else.... waiting to see if anyone else does a dyno test.

Is this like the equivalent of the hot garbage "smog pump" on the foxbody 302s?

When you did your Mach 1 you mentioned positive and or negative fuel trim when removed. What if anything negative will that do short or long term? Appreciate it!!

Tony can this be taken out by removing the cone filter only ?

Is there a disadvantage to drilling that mesh out of the lid?
