First time in Mexico? Doesn’t look sketchy at all .. you see a lot of restaurants like that everywhere in Mexico and the “sketchy” ones are the places that always have the best food !

I love how the waiter speaks in very simple Spanish for you. They really care to make sure you understand. The food looked sooo good. I have never been to Mexico, but my husband grew up.in AZ and they would go over the border JUST for the food! Totally worth it!

That just shows you how humble Mexican people are. Not allowing you to pay when you know damm right every penny counts, but that doesn’t matter, what matters is that you enjoyed their food, that’s what they really care about . You’re giving me Rick Bayless vibes. I don’t know if you have seen his cooking show Mexico: One Plate At A Time. He would go to different parts of Mexico and order food, eat it, and talk about it. And then he would go to his house and make the same recipe but with his twist.
