Chewing Betel Leaves

Never heard of betle leaves. Ive been chewing on hysop gray sage spearmint. I don't think we have them here ...us pa

I cannot eat leaves.
I'm not sure why, but they make me gag and nearly vomit every time.
Lettuce, basil, spinach; it doesn't seem to matter what kind.
Maybe because it feels like biting into an uncooked limb? Dunno.
It's really made eating healthy significantly more difficult than it is for the average person; I can't eat many salads or vegetable dishes unless they're very "farm style": broccoli, carrots, 'tators; all of these are great.
