Learn elegant jazz chords, smooth left hand patterns & more in my big cocktail piano lesson.

What is the difference between good and bad cocktail piano? Like in most styles it's diversity.
If you have a variety of voicings at your fingertips, different left hand patterns to support your right hand plus tasteful fills you can turn "easy listening piano" into an art form that is pleasurable to listen to, but not boring.
In this tutorial we will focus on important jazz voicings for the elegant cocktail piano sound, and on left hand patterns from simple bass-chord figures to floating arpeggios.

Your humor makes learning a blast. Loved the commentary, "no tips tonight again" "why am I doing this?"

That melody was more than cocktail. It was a hymn to humanity.

A ton to unpack here, thanks! BTW, whenever cocktail piano being played at a classy bar (so fun), I'm the guy tipping the player. A very underappreciated profession.

Absolutely fantastiche Christian. I really enjoyed this one, lovely explanation of the different tonal centres and how they fit in to the main key. Very helpful. More like this please...

Very interesting tutorial in music theory. An aboundance of usefull information. I had to stop midway in the lecture to prevent my brain from boiling.

Wonderfull teacher this guy Christian.

In fact he is an extremely rare example of the human species. He is a talented musician and excellent teacher. A rare combination in its own. However he is also German with a great sence of humor. Another rare combination. The coincidence of these two rare combinations in one person happens only one in a billion, according to Guinness Book.

the last bit had a little taste of Erik Satie and his haunting melodies.

Weiter so Christian. Liebe Grüße, Berni

Yeah this one will keep me busy for a while. I've worked diligently on Moon Rover for a few months now, trying to become as proficient as I can at the various voicings and inversions for the chords. Things are starting to come together!

Hey Christian!! Thank you for doing such a wonderful job teaching us, so far you are the best. I've been practicing with you for like 2 months now, would you be able to teach us some Latin Jazz? Maria Cervantes is such an amazing song. Cheers!!
