Today I unbox... An OEM processor!!

I also talk about it a little bit, so there's some justification there.

OEM=Original Equipment Manufacturer
RTM=Released To Manufacturing
the pins are now in the socket instead of on the cpu

@shadow86sk I believe that the OEM does not come with stock heatsink (or fan).

They brought them out to deliver better value to the customer.

930 is the same as a 920 except a little bit faster and it costs the same.

Why would you still want a 920 if you can get one that's slightly faster and costs the same?

If anything we should be saying "thanks Intel" because it's not like competition in the market is forcing them to update their product line at this price point...

@Gannondalf I'm assuming, since it is OEM that is to be placed somewhere once the system is built. No way they expect you to keep that there...

@Gannondalf that's an NCIX warranty sticker, when you remove that it means that you voided the warranty from NCIX, besides OEM processors don't have a warranty

I think my dell xps studio 9100 have the same CPU, but I may upgrade it to the XEON X5690 6 CORE 3.47 GHZS

@HenryGAD
4GHz was not the limit for OC of 920, but it was the air cooling limit at that time with that specific cooler in that Review :)

Having said that, they are identical architecturally.

was it just me or did it say "warranty void if removed" on the sticker he removed

LukeBeacon

actually there will, if its 1 multiplier higher then, by using the same bclks you would get higher clocks, and don't forgot a additional 1x from turbo :)

From the reviews I checked, @the same system specs the 930 reached 4.3GHz while the 920 managed 4.0GHz .

So, thats a 0.3GHz difference which is an improvement .

how is the warranty void if you remove the label, how do you cool it?

@lawnelson I'm no expert, but im pretty sure you could use it with win 98 if you wanted to.

Meaning, yes.

same thing but 3.33GHz would be idk around 900$? lmao jk
its business better = more money

whats OEM and RTM? he was unlabeling OEM and why does it not have any pins? did intel actually do what i think they did? remove all the pins so no more worry that 1 of em will brake?

I thought even the OEM comes with at least the stock HSF?
