How to Sew an Invisible Zipper and Use Universal Foot

I think it's good that she repeated things and "overly complicated" it - which isn't the right term to use. She was just spelling things out, so to speak, so it's easy to understand, even for a beginner who knows little to nothing about sewing! I just got home from Hobby Lobby where I had purchased an invisible zipper and the package of invisible zipper feet that I wasn't sure I would even need.  To my surprise I have the exact package that is shown in this video and without this video I probably would never have figured this process of attaching the zipper foot and sewing the invisible zipper so easily. I am sewing it into a throw pillow. Thank you so much for the easy to follow instructions.

After my father, who was an AWESOME self-taught tailor, passed away, I inherited all of his sewing equipment, and not until I watched your video, had I been able to figure out how to use his invisible zipper foot!  It isn't like the Universal one you demonstrated, but it at least gave me great direction, and from there I figured it out! I've been sewing since before Professor Pincushion was born, so I assumed my old invisible zipper foot wouldn't work on the new smaller coil zippers.  Bought the new thing and had to wire it together (difficult) because it kept popping off the "bar".  Gingerly used iit for two zippers.  Checked Nancy's Notions website to see if they carried a better one and low and behold, they are selling my "old" one.  Had a scrap end of one of those newly installed zippers, and used my "old" foot.  It worked perfectly, and MUCH much better than the cheap one sold at the fabric store.  Live and learn!

It snaps on to the white foot in a similar way as the others, it can only go one way, and then attached in the same way as your foot attaches to the presser bar. Remember this is for machines that thread right to left. Unfortunately, it doesn't work for all machines but you can always contact coatsandclark with your machine info and see if your machine is compatible.

This tutorial was great. You really helped me out when I was out is options. I was sewing a dress assuming that the zipper foot package would help me figure out how to fix it on. I found I did it know how to do it from the package info and that the real zipper foot I needed could only be ordered online. This tutorial fixed all of my dress problems. Thank you so much.
