Sew Easy: Adding a Hanging Sleeve to Wall Quilts or any Quilt!

Quilts aren't always used on a bed. Think of wall quilts and other quilt patterns that are completed and then displayed in entryways and throughout homes, as well as all manner of quilts hung for quilt shows. Plus, hanging a quilt properly is protects them from damage. We will show you how to apply a hanging sleeve using two different methods. Then, you'll be ready to add the perfect handing sleeve to any project!

Thank you for this easy to understand tutorial. I received a finished quilt from my Aunt Betty. I wanted to display it and your tutorial made it possible for me to accomplish it. Also your instructions for adding a sleeve to a quilt during the construction process is very helpful. I make baby quilts. It never occurred to me to add a sleeve in case the recipient wanted to display it.

Quick and easy way too. I've always done it the hard way ( without a plan...) The only thing I'm going to do differently is I'm going to stitch the sleeve on before I sandwich it so I don't have to hand stitch at the end. Thanks!
