After watching this I will just live with my hammer toe as long as possible. I currently just pad it with a nice soft rubbery device.

My mom had hers done about 10 years ago and they just removed the middle bone, fixed the toe shape/strain, but she had severe nerve pain and surgery for both legs/feet after so idk how much difference it's really made. Cool to know there's better ways to do it now tho, imma need it done someday soon XD

Your toe will hurt for the rest of your life every time low pressure comes.trust me dont volunteer for hardware in your body unless you need it to live lol

Why can't we just drill through the toes cartilage and pull it out after so that I can have full movement of my joint!? Doing it this way I will never be able to move my toe again!

I’ve had PAIN and then I’ve had CHRONIC REAL PAIN. I’d do that if it would straighten my toe, relieve the pain on the tip that constantly has pressure from walking and possibly alleviate the arthritis in that toe as well.

This isnt always the case it depends if its the bone or tendon if its the tedon the will just cutt the back of ur toe by the tedon so that the tendon releases ❤

It looks like the hammer toe would be more comfortable than having a toe that absolutely cannot bend.

I had hammer toe surgery when I was a kid back in the 70s not sure what the did exactly but what I can remember they cut down both sides of 3 of my toes and moved the tendons from under the toes to the top of the toes which pulled them straight again. This was surgery done in the UK. My toes are lovely and straight but I can't bend them anymore but I'm happy with them. Was told it was caused by baby grows if you know what they are. So when I had kids I cut the toes out of the baby grows so my kids didn't suffer the same fate.
