IGN News - EA Invite Hints at Battlefield 4 Reveal

SimCity marketing pulled by EA!

EA is teasing an announcement at this month's Game Developer's Conference. In an invitation sent to IGN, EA reminds potential attendees to "save the date" and advertises an event on March 26th at a movie theater.

Interestingly, the invitation includes a familiar color palette that's extremely similar to the box art for Battlefield 3. Given that Battlefield 4 was recently shown to retailers and has yet to see an official announcement, could this be when EA will finally reveal the sequel?

Hey its funny I just noticed that on battlelog when you go to the store on the battlelog for me, I am a xbox player, it says that End Game releases on 2013-3-26??
Typo or on purpose??

yeah i remember bad company 2 has free maps I'm pretty sure but they were just the standard maps expanded for new game modes I think.

Will whatever holds back the current gen consoles with regards player counts, be addressed with the next gen consoles? As someone said it's just too limited on console at the moment.

The dlc releases for BF3 have kept the game alive for soon 18months. all the dlc's are unique and bring something new every time, if it's one thing i hope they continue it's how they release the dlc's and they're attitude towards that. and DICE have been working on BF4 while also working on BF3 for the last 18 months now, and now they will work full force on BF4.

Honestly, if their making a BF4, which is set in pretty much the same era as BF3, a modern setting with the same Frostbite Engine 2.0, the only thing I expect is more of the same thing, such as guns, maps, map sizes, a update Destruction 2.0, update physics, that sort of thing. The only thing I can think they would add that would be considered "new", even though it's been in the BF for a long time, is an improved Commander Mode.

Single player isn't the foundation.
BF was originally multiplayer only and I still loved it.
Not to mention that majority of us barely lay a hand on the single player.

I agree with you for the most part, but... the main and pretty much the only difference between BC2 and BF3 is the campaign. BC2's campaign brought humor via the characters, but still had that intense battle gameplay. While BF3's campaign was serious and more like a real war in the eyes of a soldier, so to speak.

I don't think they are ready to ditch their brand new and awesome frostbite 2 engine just yet.

i think then should do more with the engine single player wise. they should show their true potential in single player and multiplayer

EA has said that the frostbite 2 engine is only using a tiny part of it's potential in battlefield 3, so with the next gen consoles and battlefield 4, we will see heck of a lot more from the frostbite 2 engine on the next generation.

Unless DICE develop a WWII Battlefield again, that's the only instance that I would want another campaign.

Ah, valid point. True it's a matter of oppinion, I've been playing Battlefield for as long as I can remember though haha, I just really want a remake of BF2142 on the latest frostbite engine. But non-the-less, I'm mad stoked for BF4 xD
