This is the perfect technical solution to ABL! Now it just needs to support CANBUS or bridged USB so it can actually be used... without running a dedicated USB cable to the tool head!

As a beacon owner i would love to see a hybrid probe that had the speed of the eddy sensors but also the automatic bed to nozzle calibration of the various methods of touch calibration in a package that could integrate with or be a full replacement for popular CAN/USB bus toolhead MCUs Having used a voron 2.4 w/ sb2209 can mcu and a 5 head Prusa XL I feel like having smart tool heads on some sort of network is the future. And anything we can do to make calibration better and faster in these heads using their mcus is a win. Like the XL’s strain gauge is clever use of the aluminum hotend cooling structure but minor nozzle ooze can throw it off.

cant wait for this to come out. I have been trying to fight with my hydra bed zerog mercury one forever, if this works out I would like to make ztilt on 4 points with the contact beacon probing method so that when I actually mesh it would compensate for this issue. im pretty sure other users have same issue with other printers such as trident or ratrigs as ive seen a guy post a video of a ratrig with the exact same problem as I have, I do own 2 beacons and both machines are waiting on this update to come out, I would have love to be a beta tester or in the future if i can ever help in any ways :) thanks a lot

Does it now recognize the magnetic field at a greater distance? And as soon as it no longer changes, it stops the print head ?

I was about to be a little annoyed because I just bought a Beacon Rev H around Christmas time, thought Beacon was going to make it obsolete already. Nope! Just further justified my purchase. Beacon was already worth it and this feature looks amazing, can’t believe I’ll just have to update the firmware to have nozzle probing on my Switchwire.

What happened to early May? I'm starting to get just a touch concerned after seeing all the demos of it apparently working for a while now and yet its still not released. What is the hold up? The original Beacon didn't have a whole lot of documentation and unfinished sections so I can't imagine its that.
