I know this is a bit of a late of a comment, but many people compare Flans with VMW, or Timeless classics.
Thing is, a lot of the footage only shows the official packs that are avaliable for 1.12.2
1.7.10 Flans mod plus has a lot more contant packs with quality that matches these mods, and vehicles that match MCHELI
Flans mod, out of any war mod, has the most content with packs.
Also, it is possible to use 1.7.10 packs in 1.12.2 to some extent, although it will need you to port it over basically. Doesn't need coding knowledge (unless you want a proper 1:1 port) but there is still barely any info on how to do it.
it is possible however, i myself ported about 100 vehicles from 1.7.10 to 1.12.2.
