Barney Calhoun still suffered from the aftereffects of Black Mesa, the decisions he had made and the people he left behind: his best friend Gordon Freeman.

All those he had lost at that of his survival, yet was it all worth it in the end? What was he bringing more to this world that had been fully ruined and crushed under the iron fist of the Combine.

He saved people, having infiltrated Civil Protection, but the amount of inaction, the insignificant results: they were chipping away at his sanity.

Yes, he had to do whatever it takes to bring back the world of the past. It was time for a... revolution.
