Gas geyser works similar to your house kitchen gas stove. So if you think you should not use a gas geyser then stop using your kitchen gas stove also. This type of incidence can happen with your kitchen gas stove also.
First of all it can happen because it is a non ISI mark unbranded gas geyser. Maybe it is not serviced for a long time. Look at the gas pipe installed in this geyser how cheap quality it is. Gas geysers are totally safe when you use a good quality ISI mark geyser and get it installed for the brand itself.

I believe you turnerd the top button to left that is Dual ignition, in this case two large burners fire up to heat water in much colder temperatures and in this case due to temp issues it got out or maybe there is a very small gas leak.

First of all tight the gas pipe.
Secondly turn from dual ignition to normal mode.

My Sameer gas geyser is working since 7 years continuously without any problem. Please get it checked. I am an engineer. So, take my opinion and get it checked, its a nice geyser.
