I just bought my first snowboard. Bought it on Craigslist, it's an older burton cruizer. Came with burton bindings for 60$. I got it to pretty much just learn and not be to worried about thrashing it or messing it up. But if snowboarding is something I fall in love with you better believe I'll be back to this video! I appreciate the videos you guys make its taken some guess work and anxiety out of my first day. Thanks.

Upgraded to a Capita Scott Stevens Pro 155cm from a Stepchild Joe Sexton Pro 150cm. I'm 5'9 160lbs and felt that the 150 was too small. I am so stoked I talked to TJ and decided to go with the 155. This board is a little stiffer than my stepchild but it is incredible off of jumps/carving throughout the mountain, it is definitely my do-it-all board! I will probably get a 153 disaster eventually for jibbing around and buttering when I take days off from the park.

Rode a rockered board last season and progress really fast.. Now I'm interested in a camber board to experiment and compare both of them to see what feels better under foot. Thanks for the tips!

I have tested out quite a few snowboards in my time snowboarding. From Burton, to Lib Tech, and now to what I currently ride which is a Never Summer Proto HD(2015). I love everything about it all the way down to the simplicity of snow never sticking to my carbonium top sheet. I have to say that Never Summer honestly changed the game for me and I don't see myself ever going to a different brand. Yes, most boards these days are made pretty damn well, but the guys over at Never Summer specialize in snowboards and longboards. They are headquartered right in Colorado USA and they put their hearts and souls into what they do. In the video was a Never Summer Funslinger and that board is great for park riding specifically. Furthermore, if you want a board that does everything, check out the Never Summer Proto Type Two. Reviews have been done by numerous board shops, board insiders, and even professional Stale Sandbech so if you really want the specs and info on what actually makes the board what it is then you can research that yourself. I am just here as an 18 year old rider who has been at it for 8 years trying to steer you in the direction that has made me excited to ride every time I go out. If you want a great board I would highly consider the Proto Type Two or even just switching to Never Summer in general. Remember that it's your riding and experience so why not have the best one possible?

That video of you going over the handle bars on the flexible board was a really good representation of the downsides of a flexible board. I'm on the Salomon Assassin right now and I feel it is really fun, but I've had that same fall at least four times this season because the nose gives out. Also you should say more about the length of the board; I'm 6'1" and 200 lbs and I ride a 157W, and it was so nice to downsize.

i bought my first board 2 years ago, a bataleon goliath. It is a beast for high speed and carves. But since then my preferences have changed and now i want something with a softer flex. So the biggest tip is maybe to rent a board a year or two and then decide which direction you want to go, freestyle or allmountain

Great explanation thank you. Next time I know what to rent and I know it's not me who's missing something while riding but the board is different.

Great shot of the soft board flexing out.

I'm thinking about buying a YES The Greats (got an offer on the 2015 version) board soon. Any thoughts on that board?
I'm mostly a guy who plays abit on the slopes, never really go to the park.
Been snowboarding for several years now, and I know my basics like 360 spins, butters, and a few other fun tricks.
