COMBINE SCHD & SCHG to CRUSH S&P 500 VOO ETF (2025)

In this video, I show how combining SCHD & SCHG which are 2 ETFs can outperform or have the potential to do so in the future against the S&P 500 index, in other words Vanguard's VOO ETF. Disclaimer is YES! I do own all 3 of these ETFs, VOO as my highest holding by a large margin. SCHG is a great growth play for higher returns and SCHG is great for a high dividend yield combined with capital appreciation. Of course VOO is the go to set it and forget it all in one ETF! One strategy I've thought of is do 100% SCHD in my Roth and 100% SCHG in my taxable. Fill up the Roth as fast as possible and after that feed your taxable as a "spillover" for the remainder of the year.

The price action of SCHD for the last 12 months is a series of lower lows and lower highs. This indicates that prices will continue to fall until it reaches a key support level. Where is that level? No clue, I don't research instruments that are not making money. SCHD -8.82% over the last 12 mo.

Author forgot about dividend growth. The yield on SCHD can grow at 10%/year, so the yield on cost will be much higher.

I use my 401k as my “growth” portfolio with a 6% employer match (S&P 500 fund) and I have 100% in SCHD in my ROTH IRA as my “income” portfolio 🫶🏼✨ set it and forget it! I hope everyone achieves financial freedom one day! Much love from HAWAII 🤙🏼

I own SCHG and SCHD, but with SCHG, there is far more risk than an S&P fund, as Apple and Microsoft account for over 27% of the fund. If either of them have a hiccup, the fund will get hit hard.
