They say it's a dj set, but he's doing way more than most electronic livesets

Daedelus is without a doubt one of the most unique producers I've ever listened to. His level of creativity is mind blowing. It's so hard to even describe his many releases in one genre because he dabbles in so many styles he's taken traditional styles of electronic and added his own take and it's simply incredible and amazing

Without this guy, we would not have Accordion. Long live DOOM

I love how much he's grooving to it. Not enough producers go beyond casual head nodding when they perform live

10 years later and this shit is still futuristic, watched this for the first time as a young teen starting to get interested in DJing, how times have changed! Big up Daedelus ya legend!

There's something about the way he moves his hands when he's mixing. It's methodical and precise that it's almost hypnotic watching him when he mixes.

Love this dude, saw this guy SMASH a show back in 2008, right around when Fair Weather Friends/Love To Make Music To dropped. Love to see that he got on KEXP way before I knew about KEXP and how dope this radio station is. Some people in Seattle don't know how good they got it. Big Up!

@ajdanlace The camera editing makes it a bit unclear, but the Monome (the pad thing) is lighting up different parts of a loop, basically one sample for each line. When pressing the buttons it'll trigger that point in the loop, chopping the small samples up further, sometimes replacing the sample with another, at other times changing the speed or pitch, creating collisions and juxtapositions. Thats pretty much the idea, there is other stuff going on with the smaller Monome, but it's a start.

Discovered this today, I was blown away when I saw how old is this performance! Unbelievable how it was ahead of times, and incredible use of Monome as well

@thekeenone, we called it a "DJ set" for lack of a better name. Call it whatever you like, but enjoy it for what it is!

This is like the first time I've ever seen Daedelus with "normal" clothes on lol. He's always got that inventor/scientist look with the suspenders.

I've watched this video so many times over the years and I still love the expressions of joy on his face man, he is just feeling it, getting down...people have to be annoying and over analyze shit.

I can’t be the only one who is here because of DOOM.
