I still sing "Turbulent Displacement" at my desk at work while people around me grow concerned. Thanks for bringing it back.

Love these kind of short and sweet tutorials, please keep them coming!! They're not too beginner-ish, but also not insanely hard or drawn out. Thanks Film Riot!

I really love it when you use the turbulent displacement, for the sake of the song

What I like about this series is that it assumes you are familiar with after effects and basic editing practices rather than wasting your time explaining what hotkeys to press and breaking down every single keyframe.

I love how when editing each individual effect looks Janky on its own. But when you put it all together it looks so cool!

For the life of me I couldn't figure out a way to make my turbulent noise black for years without some sort of work around and you have finally given me an answer to that! You sir are a gentleman and scholar!.. lol

I am absolutely in love with RG's Optical Glow. It completely blows away all other Glow effects before it. It's versatile, it's powerful, and it's all-around great.

So hyped right now! Can't wait for more in depth tutorials like this! Not only for the techniques used but also for the major inspiration for new projects!

I'm so glad you created this tutorial. This effect was one of the reasons I bought the Infinity Pack. Life is complete.

When he said the Word Turbulent and about to say displacement I instantly thought I wonder if he's gonna play that clip like back in the day and yep they did it. Made my day . Film Riot still has that clip saved some where special on their hard drives just in case for occasions like this.

As soon as I saw the effect, I smiled, knowing we were gonna get the turbulent displacement bit at some point in the episode. Thanks for making my night 😄

This was so well executed. Definitely keep these coming! Loving the new VFX packs as well as all the release trailers and VFX breakdowns from Thompson.

While I do really like your current content, I've really missed your earlier work with diy builds and effects tutorials. Thanks for this! - also, you guys have gotten a lot of miliage out of that turbulent displacement music video... it never fails to make me giggle hysterically and I love how it always comes in during a serious tutorial piece so it's always unexpected :D
