Mini TESLA COIL KIT: £3.68 Ebay and it works 2017 /18

I build and test a very cheap working Musical Tesla Coil. Less that £4 / $6 which also plays music, well kind of.

For anyone who can't get it to work, specifically, those that are seeing only LED2 turn on, try replacing the red primary coil with a wire with fewer turns. Newer versions of this kit say to use 2-3 turns, but try trimming it down from 3 to 2, and if that still doesn't work, from 2 to 1 turn. I had 3 turns, then cut it down to 1 turn and it worked with no other changes.

You need 1 turn of primary around the secondary, the more turns on the primary, the less voltage on the secondary.

Hi Fred I did a similar thing with a 2mtr Transmitter way back in 1980 when I lived in Hemel I used a 5 ft fluorescent tube held close to the Antenna whilst transmitting Great fun watching it light with no wires..I am glad Tesla didn't build his system because they would have wiped out CB and Ham Radio with the noise after all a tesla coil is a Spark Transmitter giving off RF across a wide frequency range...Great Video mate 👍👍

Hi fred great video I just got the little kit today and assembled it but I can only get one of the leds working and I get no spark at all the heatsinks heat up but nothing else dont suppose you have any tips?

I couldn't get the music cord to work but I'm going to try to make one so I can play music through the coil but I'm not sure it will work because the headphone jack is pretty cheap garbage

I have made mine it works but it doesn't play music and when I connect it to my phone it does random things(it's not near the coil) by itself, any ideas how to fix?

You need to make some changes. Check Avasva Solutions if you want to make it right.

I just can't get mine to work. I have the correct power going in but only the bottom right LED is working. The other LED is flickering from time to time. Have I done something wrong?
