Elisabeth Hasselbeck on Why She Won't Be Returning to 'The View'

If you thought Rosie O'Donnell's abrupt exit from The View last week would suddenly clear the way for former co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck's return, think again. In an interview with Rachael Ray, airing Tuesday, Febuary 24, the 37-year-old Fox & Friends co-host says she's moved on from the Emmy-winning daytime series.

to be honest, I wish she was still on the show. It was entertaining to listen to her speak and make a fool of herself.

I think the truth is somewhere in the middle between Elisabeth and Rosie. I think Barbara announced to Elisabeth that she wanted Rosie back, Elisabeth gave the ultimatum to Barbara that if Rosie joins then she quits. I do feel that Rosie knew how Elisabeth would react, and she was only eager to rejoin in order to get Elisabeth removed from the show.

The ratings dropped 30% when Hasselbeck left.  They need to replace her with someone similar and vulnerable that goes up against the tougher older liberal women.  That is  why people watched before, plus Elisabeth wore the latest fashion outfits often off the runway, the women there now can not wear these brands or styles.

Maybe she’ll go back to Survivor. I’d love to see her on that show again.
