Alana Tolman describes her experience at the ANU College of Asia & the Pacific as “genuinely transformational” to her life. A Bachelor of Asian Studies (Honours) graduate, Alana’s degree took her to Brunei, Indonesia and Japan, and inspired her involvement with the ANU Southeast Asia Society, ANU Students Association and College of Asia & the Pacific Students Society.
Reflecting on her ANU journey, Alana recalls it was an Orientation Week barbecue hosted by the College in her first year that set in motion the pursuit of her interests in academia – and life.
