Peugeot 408 Brake Disc and Pad Replacement
Показать описание
In this video, I replace the front brake discs and brake pads in my 2013 Peugeot 408 1.6 Turbo. Instructions should be identical for Peugeot 308 petrol models.
My Peugeot discs are 80,000km old, and I am swapping in new Valeo discs and pads.
For the 2013 Peugeot 408, the minimum brake disc thickness is 24mm, and the pad must have at least 2mm of friction material.
Tools and supplies required (some items not the exact ones I used):
- Basic ratcheting wrench
- Hex bit socket adapter
- 17mm socket (Mr DIY)
- E16 E-Torx socket
- 7mm Hex bit
- T-30 Torx bit
- Flat head screwdriver
- C-clamp
- Wire brush (Mr DIY)
- Mallet
- Grease / Copper Anti Seize (Ace Hardware)
- Penetrating Oil (Ace Hardware)
- Gloves (Mr DIY)
- Goggles (Mr DIY)
- Respirator (Mr DIY)
- New Brake Pads and Brake Discs (Mine are from Vanli, along Jalan Ipoh, KL)
- Bucket/box/etc about 40cm tall
Tip: Get all 1/2 inch drive sockets, and some socket adapters, for all the sockets and bits you need. This way, you can use your torque wrench to tighten everything. Make sure to get good quality sockets, or they will break when you try to tighten/loosen stuff... I broke 2 😅
This job took me many weeks as I kept finding out tools I need to buy, so hopefully this list will help you have a smooth go 😊
