Eli, you are an ambassador of Russia. I think government should pay you and I think your videos will be an inspiration to everyone who watches your videos to travel even to the most remote places of Russia. Because at the same time you're showing us how beautiful and interesting of a place that could be to even think about traveling there and have a journey in real Russian winter.
That's amazing! Keep up the good work!

Hello from Finland. Long time ago I used to live near to the Russian border and I visited Sortavala dozens of times in the 1990's and had many friends there. Of course I drove there via Ruskeala every time. My first trips to Sortavala were when it was the Soviet Union. Things have changed a lot since then. BTW, "Ruskeala" is Finnish and it can be translated as "brown village".

I am old enough to remember regularly traveling on steam trains, the smell and sounds will always stick with me. Also standing on a railway bridge when a train went through and you'd disappear into a cloud of steam. Wonderful.

Eli your work is remarkable. I'm from the Philippines. Through your videos, I got a glimpse of Russia. For most of us Filipinos, the US is fascinating but after watching several of your blogs, I realized that your country has so much to offer. I am always fascinated by what you are sharing. Good luck to you and may you continue to educate your audiences.Hugs from the Philippines!

Hey Eli, I'm South African 🇿🇦 and I must say I'm quite intrigued. I found your channel a couple of days ago and I have been glued to it. The cinematography, the story telling, and general adventures are absolutely breathtaking! I am truly impressed and I think your videos should be on discovery Channel or national geographic. Keep up the good work!

The steam locomotive seems so romantic, the chugging of the engine, the steam whistle, and the clickety-clack of the tracks, so cool. I imagine it would give such a sense of nostalgia. I love those tea cups too.

Great video of nostalgic value, the train is cool. My Grandfather on fathers side was a boilermaker for railroads. Beautiful trip.
