How to Freeze selected FX in REAPER

In this quick tutorial from The REAPER Blog you will learn how to freeze track fx up to a point in the chain. A great way to save CPU and resolve annoying delay compensation lag.

Before freezing the vocal track has a huge delay and continues for a second after playback has stopped.

After freezing two of the plugins on the track, all CPU load and delay compensation for the track are eliminated for much smoother performance.

Tracks can be un-freezed and the original plugins returned to the FX-Chain.

This channel is a goldmine! I always take away something useful in each video you make. Even something from 3 years ago!

took a while to find this video, but I think this is what I needed to know. Some of my VST synths i use such as Output Exhale have latency issues with half of the samples they use. Does this work the same way for Midi Tracks?

I know this is old, but question: I'm trying to add this action to the fx context menu, but I can't find the action in the action list. Any advice?

The RXDeClicker goes into the first fx, or the last?

Can you exclude a single FX (in this case Softube Console 1) from being frozen? I want to simply freeze all the VIs and no the console 1 that sits after the VI

Hi! Is there a way to change the path for freeze/render tracks? Sometimes I record so many takes that when I freeze or render something, it gets lost on the project folder.. It could be like <Project Folder->Audio Files; Render/Freeze tracks>.
Thanks and best regards from Brazil!!

Do you know where the generated frozen audio is rendered in your file system? I assume if it's like the glue function it must make a WAV somewhere?

If you have a stereo effect on a mono source (like stereo reverb on mono guitar), would you freeze in mono or stereo?
