Planned Parenthood CEO on Supreme Court Case, Title X & More

The Supreme Court heard oral arguments Wednesday in a case that may cut off Planned Parenthood from Medicaid funding. Planned Parenthood says the move violates the Medicaid Act's "free choice of provider" provision, which says patients are entitled to choose their own doctors. The case, brought by the state of South Carolina, could impact the care of low-income patients who rely on Planned Parenthood for a range of non-abortion services, including cancer screenings and full physical exams. Federal law already bans Medicaid from funding abortions for patients in most cases. "South Carolina had a hard time trying to prove that it had a right to take away the dignity of patients who choose to go to Planned Parenthood," says Alexis McGill Johnson, president and CEO of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

I went to Planned Parenthood in the 80s for everything but pregnancy termination. I was grateful for the low cost medical care.
Although I could have done without the protesting outside the facility. They would yell, "Don't kill your baby."
Crazy people who don't want to accept that they do a lot more than abortions. Thank you PP for being there for me when I needed you.

The pro-life movement is causing more harm for women and newborns then legalized abortion. I have never had an abortion, however when I was 20 years old with two little kids and suddenly a single mother Planned Parenthood was the only place that I could go for healthcare besides the emergency room . For me it was just like any other health clinic. I was extremely grateful for that safety net in my community.

In Springfield, MO, a doctor rich area, 40% of patients need Planned Parenthood in their lives. I Support Planned Parenthood.

I was underemployed and had no benefits but I needed to go to the doctor, I found out that I could go to Planned Parenthood for healthcare. I was about 63 when I went there, I was extremely pleased with the medical care. I recommended it to a friend and she was cared for and also pleased with the doctor and nurses. I will donate to Planned Parenthood as much as my budget allows. Great organization.

I’m a 66 year old woman. I have one adult child. I started going to planned parenthood when I was 17 years old. They helped me make sound choices about my health care all through my younger years.
The Republican Party is really trying to take away young women’s reproductive care. They are forcing young women into pregnancies that they can’t afford and then forcing women to have babies they can’t afford. What happens to these women and their babies. Once the babies are born then the republicans don’t want to care for those children. Especially the black and brown babies.
What they are creating is an entire country of new poor people. This at the same time the Republican Party is getting rid of public education, Medicaid and everything other department that is their primary for poor families.
What is the Republican Party’s end goal?

Dear everyone who told us in 2016 we were overreacting, and none of this could ever happen bc Roe V Wade was part of our constitutional rights:

Still think that now? Still stand by your man and his disregard for the constitution?

Health Care has nothing to do with 'DEI'

Can’t we call it poverty. Poor people need Planned Parenthood. It is frequently the only avenue they have to get medical care.

Lori Alexis McGill Johnson is an American businesswoman and family-planning rights advocate. She is the president and CEO of Planned Parenthood. She is fighting, in the Courts, to develop an end to political discrimination in family planning decisions for all Americans, especially here, in South Carolina. Choosing a family health provider is, INDEED, a RIGHT in ALL states in America ! In many Sothern states, there is NO care for women who are trying to get gynecological care and make good decisions about pregnancy ! Cancer care and general health care is a right for all families & women, regardless of politics & bible-thumping !

Why don't people understand that Planned Parenthood does so much more for women and for men Healthcare wise, than just abortions.

I simply do not get it. If Medicaid funds cannot be used for abortion and thus Planned Parenthood is not providing Medicaid abortions why does the state feel it has to kick out Planned Parenthood? This is literally ridiculous. It is literally an attack on the poor.

It is perplexing that “pro lifers” are pro life up until birth, seeing that the U.S. has one of the highest infant and maternal mortality rates among developed nations. But yet they have no concern here. No one takes abortion lightly. It is a very complex subject. Abortion is traumatizing, but it saves mothers’ lives. Mothers deserve to live too.

The Pseudo Christians oral argument is simply ignorant, cruel and unjust.

Yah, I am so over the removal of DEI and trying to defund Planned Parenthood. Our country is sliding into the abyss!!
