Exar Kun was, and still is, one of my favorite Star Wars characters of all time. That double-bladed lightsaber, man, that really got my attention when I was a kid.

Exar Kun was born to be a Sith, if he was trained as a Jedi, that's because he was born in an era when the Republic was strong and the (True) Sith Empire was hidden and thought extinct

Thank you for this! I really enjoy Tales of the Jedi. Probably even more than its follow up The Knights of the Old Republic video games, although those are awesome as well. I know it won't happen, but once the Old Republic era becomes a part of Canon, I would really love for Naga Sadow, Exar Kun, The Qel-Droma Bros, Nomi Sunrider, and other characters from TOTJ to be made canon as well. Just have a deep love for them and the comic book series. Like I said, it probably won't happen, but man it would be freakin' cool!

I don’t get how Exar Kun, arguably the most powerful Sith Lord ever, basically singlehandedly annihilated Ossus, a powerful Jedi planet strong in the light side of the force, only to be defeated by 7 force sensitive kids and Luke. And just keep in mind that although Luke is a second generation Skywalker, Exar Kun is an ancient, Puritan Sith Lord who had to be imprisoned because he wouldn’t die.
