this song holds the most special place in heart. i knew i wanted to write a song for Sam in honor of his dad but trying to put the right words into place felt like an intimidating task. it was a very emotional writing session where everyone was crying and i was a bit concerned as to how i was going to get through recording the vocals but we did it! the outro of this song has Sam, his mom & his brother humming along with me, which made this track that much more special!

i hope this song connects and helps anyone who has lost a loved one. they really are watching over you and someday you will see them again 🤍

for those of you who don’t know, Sam lost his dad to ALS. a disease that takes a life every 90 minutes. i’ve decided to donate 10% of this songs revenue to the ALS Association and will have a fundraiser on my profile for anyone who would like to donate and help fund research for finding a cure.

My father passed away when I was 10....three days after my 10th birthday. I'm 18 now and balling my eyes out after my boyfriend of 4 years and best friend of 10 sent me this! We've been best friends since we were 7 and was there for me through it all. This song is heartbreakingly beautiful❤️

I cannot express how much this made me cry. I’ve never lost a parents, which I’m very thankful for, but my mom did. When I was 7 my mom and I were sitting in my piano teacher’s waiting room. She was checking her messages when she saw that my grandfather, who barely used her phone, had said something. She looked up from her phone saying “Grandpa died last night.” She started crying and seeing this, I hugged her saying “he’s in a better place now. You have to keep being strong because then you’ll be able to see him later! After all, you still have me and my brother.” That was the only time I was able to help my mom with words, but as proud as I felt saying that what happened to cause it was more painful than it should’ve been. This song reminds me of that, but it also reminds me of how ny mom has taken amazing care of my grandmother. For that, I’m proud. If you read this, thank you. And if you’ve lost a parent before, I’m very sorry for your loss and wish you the best. In the end, to see them again you have to be kind so they’ll be able to catch up with you! I know that it isn’t as easy it sounds but just remember that please. Thank you.

I wish to give you my sincerest and most heartfelt thanks for writing this song. I lost my dad at 16 while he was away on a business trip. I never got to say goodbye and unfortunately we had to have him cremated to get him home. I've struggled so hard for the last 22 years with this loss. It's not something you ever truly get over.
