BoardScore - SnapML Creative Residency Behind the Scenes

Board Score is a Snapchat lens that rates your surfboard with just a single photo in the categories of Shredability, Aggroness, Style and Kookiness. Check it out in the Snapchat app with this link:

Board Score was created during the Snapchat ML Creative Residency in the Summer of 2020. The experience uses a custom machine learning model trained on over 10,000 images of surfboards to detect whether a board is a shortboard, longboard, fish, foamie (soft-top) or a gun and gives you the answer to that ultimate question: “Does it shred?”

Now, through the power of machine learning any argument over the most stylie or kooky board in the lineup can be instantly settled with technology instead of an on-shore wrestling match.
