Small business owners fed up with crime call on Oakland leaders to take action

The frustration is growing for Bay Area businesses fed up with crime and in Oakland, small business owners are calling on leaders to take immediate action. Velena Jones reports.

Calling them "Leaders" is very disturbing because if there is one thing they don't have is leadership. I live in Sonoma and used to go to the city at least twice a month for dinner or attend events, I haven't been to the city in two years and don't plan on going until some significant change happens.

At this point, only vigilante justice will stop the criminals. Law enforcement only exist for the operation (the meaning of peace and order) of government, not to protect innocent citizens or businesses.

Making the whole thing harder to swallow is that Pamela Price continues to deny there is a crime problem. "I feel safe, " says her.

Open your eyes, Pamela. Our small business owners are hurting. Those who create jobs are hurting from the crimes you fail to prosecute.

Oakland has always had it's problems but at least in the old days it was affordable and there was an interesting mix of cultures with a sense of community. Now it's just a nightmare. I really don't understand what's keeping people there when you can move almost anywhere else in the country for a better quality of life at half the cost.
