I think fretless it’s a more elegant solution with regards to microtones (rather then adding dozens more little frets)

This is the best sounding fretless guitar I have ever heard. I love the transition from a sufi music feel to more traditional percussive guitar. This instrument is brilliant for evoking both.

when you think of all the different configurations that the guitar/loot has it's hard to imagine something more expressive than a fretless instrument. And then the very different configuration of having it be a baritone nylon string instrument is just stupendous. Of course this gentleman is a fabulous guitarist and that always helps!
