Some of my favorite curriculum pieces come from the publisher Usborne. We use Usborne daily in our homeschool. I am not an Usborne seller or representative, but just a homeschool mom that wants to share how we use some key Usborne books in our homeschool. This is Part 1 of 2 Usborne flip through and review videos. In this video, I will show you our favorite Usborne books for history, science and geography. Stay tuned to see Part 2, where I talk about art, careers, literature, and finance books that we use in our homeschool.

Do you have any Usborne books that you love for History, Geography, or Science?

We have loved Usborne books through the years. I always liked their ample illustrations and their concise way of explaining educational topics.

Love this video!!! We have almost all these books as well and use them all the time in our homeschool classroom as well!! I feel like the Time Traveler is one of those hidden gems, love that one. See Inside the Body in one of my middle daughter's favorites, she loves everything human body. Thank you so much for sharing all these great books!!!

Yeah, I’m going down the rabbit trail of USBORNE books myself & using a lot of their books for our school time learning. My 8 yr old does so much more learning & it comes alive for him this way. We especially love all of the lift the flap books. In fact, right now, we are doing more book learning (especially during the holiday seasons) than “curriculum learning” & we are loving it.

We love Usborne books and have used many including some of the ones you mentioned. Sometimes there can be a lot of info to absorb especially if the subject matter is new. How do you use these books in your home? Do you talk about the main features or do you read cover to cover? I love these books but I am interested how other homeschoolers present them to their children/students.

Fantastic review! I am going to go ahead and grab Illustrated Stories from China to supplement Sonlight Core F since I'm going to be stretching that Core out over more than 36 weeks. A couple of questions: Do you understand the difference between DK and Usborne? Also, the paperback versions of the Encyclopedias seem to be half the price. Any advantage to purchasing the hardback?

These are great! Thank you for sharing your life with us. I was wondering, do you use these as additional items or do you use some of them as your main texts? If you do, are you using any type of assessments to gauge the learning. I live in PA and I always need some type of assessments in my portfolio at the end of the school year. Any ideas you have would be helpful. The Lord bless you.

... If your daughter is from Taiwan.. I hope you aren't teaching her that Taiwan is China.
