Companies do it.. idols don't do anything on their own, they hardly contribute to song and lyrics, none contribute to choreography so many companies just gather all the styles and concepts for MVs and persona, that's kinda why I'll never be too big on kpop. It's cool here and there but it's just not original and idols getting praised when they haven't done anything but follow what they're taught and before the became idols they were all mostly people with no talent and many just do it for the fame and fortune, not because they're ambitious about music.. you see documentaries from famous bands talk about writing music and spending lots of time in the studio with their instruments and rehearsals while kpop idols are just making reality shows doing nothing based on music.. but as far as copying? Nope, can't copy something they didn't create to begin with.
