If anyone was having trouble, like I was, it looks like Premiere Pro now requires frames to be included. So for a 1 second timecode you need: 00:00:01:00 instead of the 00:00:01 shown in this video. Premiere Pro kept reading the .srt file incorrectly until I added the extra zeros.

possibly one of the most useful videos ever! - thank you so much -
I found this also works using a CSV imported into Editingtools - its important to use TEXT in the spreadsheet to get the numbers to appear correctly (i.e. 00:00:00 and not 0:00:00)

Hello ! Thanks for the video, it's really helpful. I'm just having a problem with the file. When I convert it in EditingTools, there is only one of my subtitles that is being converted even though in my google sheet file everything is correct. Do you have a solution for that?

Thanks for this. Didn't even think to use subtitles, but it is so much easier than all the other videos I found that try to shoehorn the timecode effect into working as a count down. And once the srt files are built, it's a really quick process.

The little blue box trick is new to me. Amazing!

Thanks very much. Purchased the timer files to save myself some time. This solution is a lot more elegant than the timecode hack, which doesn't allow you to change fonts.

so when I import my SRT file it creates a subtitle track but doesn't fill it with anything. I looked over the SRT file and all seems normal. any ideas?

I can't get this website tool to generate the SRT file correctly, it comes out all wonky. I'm just going to use the other method I found the link to this video in.

This video is always useful -- in fact, last weekend at Andy Webb's wedding, me and Jeremy Workman were kvelling over how great this channel is!

Hello there, thank you for this, but I don't know why I don't have the import captions from file in the text section, any idea how can I fix this pls?

Any work around for ALSO having regular captions, eg, burning one track of captions to the video and exporting the other captions as a sidecar file?

This looks great! But...I've tried so many different versions and nothing actually shows up in Premiere Pro. I'm trying to import a 1 minute timer subtitle, but I've only gotten two titles to show up at the most. I already tried adding the milliseconds and trying a bunch of different number formats in google sheets. I'm really hoping to get this to work. Any ideas? Thanks!

I tried all day with no luck. I just purchased the pre-made timer. Thanks for trying tho.

For me google sheets is automatically changing "00:00:00" to "12:00:00 AM" and 0:00 in the actual cell. It throws off the whole algorithm so that the count down doesn't change one second at a time... Any idea why?

I tried to do this in Premiere Pro CC 2019, but didn't get it to work. I even bought the subtitle-files. :(

You have to have a pro account if you want to do a longer timer.
