DELL laid off an entire team mid flight back in 2007! The team had been flown out to, if I remember, South America to train new employees at a new location. It turned out they were training their own replacements! They landed jobless and were not allowed back on company property to retrieve their belongings, they had to wait for DELL to mail them to them.

I will need the full, unedited version of that Magic card rant.

I have a buddy that worked at Sprint 15-20 years ago. They took a large division of a couple hundred people out for a big lunch event. While they were all out, they revoked all the badge access for those folks. They let them in one by one and gave them one box to collect their personal items.

Maybe I'm the only one that uses Gigabyte anymore, but every single video I've seen talking about the new microcode update only mentions ASUS and MSI as having BIOS updates with the new microcode, when Gigabyte has had it as well since the 7th. So far it's solved my instability problems with my 14900ks, so good sign.

The thing about the Google Search Engine, it absolutely sucks now compared to 10-12 years ago. You get a jank combination of ad sites, completely unrelated results, and sprinkled in somewhere it *might* direct you where you were wanting to go. Gotta get that ad revenue bois

4:00 If the prices of the items increase, people will increase the refresh cycle of the item. Expecting a better lifespan obviously

The fade out and back in on the MTG story made me laugh. That was nice.

24:08 That Dell memo is very telling of the product support nightmare that Home users can expect in the future.

Man, a shame it cut out at 11:08, Steve going on progressively more passionate rants is something that fuels our souls. Maybe put it as an end-of-video bit in the future? 😛

Corsair's going to be extra upset when they realize that GTA VI is initially only releasing on consoles. They, like the rest of us, still need to wait a couple more years for the PC version.

Worked at Corsair for almost a year in Miami, until they announced moving their production to Georgia... with rumors that were rolling around for months that this was happening, but kind of gave us the news that we would be closing in about 4-6 months, pretty much Fall of last year. Reasons were pretty much, as it was alleged to me... lease was ending, not being renewed, too pricy to renew and the Georgia building (that used to be SCUF, another company that Corsair acquired) was bigger... and speculation from some upper management & fellow employees, that were not going to make the move, that minimum wage is much lower in Georgia than Florida... and in Florida we did have an amendment get passed that every year Minimum Wage will be increased by a $1, until 2026, currently it's $12 an hour... it'll be $13 later this year... so by late 2026 it'll be $15, while Georgia's is $7.25 with no amendments in the horizon looking to increase it. The move is being speculated besides the location being bigger, cheaper, it's also because they can negotiate with employees and new hires much lower wages and have more employees at one location... but also means much more new training and inexperience, and slip-ups in the short term. Most of the hands-on workers did not move to the Georgia location, just 'some' upper management... and some that work from home, mostly customer support and some IT as far as I'm aware when talking to lots of people during my exit.

...and my experience there hands-on and how the company operated in the Miami branch, in terms of management. It really felt like the company was being ran by Origin PC & Origin PC former staff (the culture apparently was no different and it was the same management & behavior as when they were just Origin PC at the Branch, because it was originally Origin PC before they buy out by Corsair), and my time there, we operated like we were a $10k company instead of company... very deaf/blind to innovation... wouldn't listen to QAs very important quality suggestions... worked with some guys at QA that suggested for years about putting a draining valves on their Cryo machines to easily drain the liquid cooling, and upper management were unwilling to listen until Gamers Nexus blasted them out in the open in front of everyone that's when they decided to make the change, it's hilarious and embarrassing... very sloppily and management delt with a lot of stuff like throwing shit at the wall until it stuck as cheaply and stingy as possible... I'm not surprised hearing that their quality has downgraded over the years in the present time, when I've seen firsthand how we operated while there.... and the status quo of operation is to almost never break cycle or bad behavioral patterns of operation that have been forming for years... that have only contributed to the regression of the product and quality. They're unwilling to make big quality changes until something bad happens in the public, very reactionary.

Very corporate downward spiral as you would expect from companies as they become more bloated and have new hires or new management that weren't there from the beginning and are just thinking about the short term profit, instead of the long term longevity and success of their business.

Even LTT got the message that "Just Trust Me Bro" is not a valid warranty policy. Intel should take notes 😂
