Installing Phanteks sleeved PSU Cables, a cheap alternative to custom cables

When I build my new PC in the Dark Base Pro 900 I knew that I had to do something about the PSU cables from my Corsair RM 750x psu because the heat shrink tubings on the cables just looks awful.

So I bought the Phanteks Extension Cable kit, to extend the cables and thereby not having the ends of the corsair cables being visible anymore.

►Phanteks Extension Cable Kit:

Now these cables are only extensions, so you cannot connect them directly to the PSU, which probably would have looked even better, but the price of custom sleeved cables compared to this kit is way higher.

So I made a compromise.

Oh and before you ask why I didn't use the dedicated cables holes next to the motherboard, well that was because I liked the look of the visible cable behind the desk trays better, and the curve using the cables holes wasn't aligning horizontally like I wanted it to.

Hope you like the video!

I really like your little side videos, be it either coffee making or a message from your kid, it gives your videos that unique touch that makes them difference compared to other tech Youtubers... That, and your editing to Joakim Karud's music. Discovered him by watching your videos and love the music style.

Oh, and I really liked your trip to the store editing aswell!

I have the cable extensions but now the cables are way too long, and I cannot close the back.

I was about to make a purchase on this cable, but I hesitated after seeing how many people complaining that it kills or fries the component, melting, or making the pc shutdown.

Are you still using them? Any word on how they've held up long term? Wanting to get these but there's a couple scary reviews saying they have major issues

I'm here to echo everybody else's comments! Nice cables! Digging the coffee montage and the outside-the-box editing.

I'm confused on what you connected at 1:48.

So do they have adapters and plug into the existing PSU cables as an extension, or do you need a PSU with removable cables. Mine are threaded and not removable.

Never seen these before..very cool that will work with any cables and not have to worry about PSU compat. Course then you have double cables to hide in the back panel, but still.

What are the things that are between the cables that make them equal

Can I put my finger under the motherboard so when I am putting my 24 pin cable in it won’t bend the motherboard

Hi, I was hoping if someone could help me. I have a 8 and 6+2 pin cable extender GPU question that I had recently bought. I have a 1070 Ti video card that has an 8 pin with a 6 pin port. However because of the tight fit of the mini-ITX case, the door is unable to shut because the connectors (the one that came with the PSU) are way to stiff for the door to shut. They stick out preventing the door from closing. And so I'm using the 8 pin and 6 pin extender which are very very flexible. The door closes and the build is finished. However I do have one major concern, since one of the 1070 Ti has a 6 pin port, is it safe to plug the PSU Y-Splitter 8 pin cord directly into the cable extender (8 pin port) THEN connect the other side *which is a 6+2 pin connector, of which I am only using 6 pins* into the 1070 port? Or do I need to REMOVE the 2 pins connecting from the PSU cord that goes into the extender which matches the 6 pin port that is on the 1070? Thanks for any help.

I just ordered these recently and they came in yesterday. The 24 pin fits well but I can't connect any of the other cables at all. Even with a little force, I can't get them to fit together and I'm not sure why.
