While the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact Europe and the world, the need for European cohesion and global solidarity in health has never been stronger. In this webinar, experts and initiators of the Manifesto for a European Health Union lay out a vision for more EU in health, and discuss candidly the barriers and challenges to its implementation.

As the Conference on the Future of Europe charts a course for Europe’s road to recovery, can we take the current crisis as an opportunity to build a stronger, more participatory and more resilient European (Health) Union where the lives and health of everyone matter?

Speakers:
VYTENIS ANDRIUKAITISV, Special Envoy for the European region, World Health Organization
ANNIEK DE RUIJTER, Associate Professor of European Law, University of Amsterdam
ILONA KICKBUSCH, Founding Director of the Global Health Programme, Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies Geneva
MARTIN MCKEE, Professor of European Public Health, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine
Moderated by MICHELE CALABRÒ, Policy Adviser, European Patients’ Forum

Another great step would be to end prohibition and finally just regulate (recreational) drug use. The current system has proven for over 50 years that's it's more harmful than helpful.
