Should we try it again? Was I doing it wrong? Or is it just a myth?

I'm glad you guys were willing to give it a try. Dan needs to find someone who knows how to use the rods . He knows everybody!

I can attest to this! My husband and I had a local man use divining rods to tell us where a relative was buried . This man and his father were both able to do this, and they said they were on average about 85% correct with finding the grave spot and if it was a male or female buried there.

If you look up the history about using rods it's quite interesting. They have found civilizations have used them for centuries around the world. They do work, and work well. I have used them for finding graves, water and asking spirits questions (I'm cheap, I always make mine from hangers). I have been told that they are also like a ouija board, so I always say a prayer before using them (I also ask for help in finding what I'm looking for). When using the rods, I always like to have someone with me, so I don't trip over something on the ground. At a 1800's house, I knew there were slave graves on the property, but didn't know where. I was able to ask for guidance (in my prayer) and was able to find a huge burial field/cemetery that was unmarked.

When I used to work for the parks and recreation department for my city, my boss showed me years ago how to use those. A lot of old time city employees used them to find and trace water, electrical lines, etc. I have also used them to find unmarked Graves as well. I always hold them with a very slight downward angle and they will definitely cross when you come over something. I'm glad y'all are finally trying these.

My grandfather was a "water witch". He would use a forked branch to "witch" wells all over the county where he grew up in Indiana. He tested several of us and the only one who could do it, aside from him, was my youngest son. Not everyone has the gift. That said, my husband can find a number of things with two coat hangers. Some day I will haul him out to an old cemetery and test this.

My husband knew a elderly gentleman in NE Georgia who used sticks to find water, graves, relics, and even snakes. He said he gentleman use them successfully many times.

I have a friend who is on the Texas Historical Society. He was technical advisor on four documentaries for the History Channel and is on the board of 3 County museums in north central Texas. He has been called all over Texas and into neighboring states to locate unmarked gravies. He uses dowsing rods . It's true, it works and I has seen him flag dozens of unmarked graves, .

Just recenly got into dowsing rods. And i can totally attest to them 100% working for me.
Ive been finding underground objects in my yard for the past week, i use the rods to locate objects then pass over with a metal detector then dig it up. Found a handful of object just in the last few days. Mostly screws, rusty nails and a few old pennys. It still blows my mind everytime...

Hey guys, another good video. A couple of things to note: As Dean Midlick pointed out, the rods should be "level" with the ground-BUT the ends at a very slight downward tilt. They should be about 10-12 inches apart and try to hold them stead-not bouncing around. Walk straight until they cross, stop if you desire, then continue forward where they will uncross. Mt dad taught me many years ago how to do it with two straightened, equalize-sized L-shaped rods. If you take your time and follow my instructions, they will work over graves (even pet graves), water and utility lines, etc.

I applaud you for trying; however, I think your doubt clouded the signal!

I have used the rods for many years. First hold the rods in front of you and not next to each other. Level walk slowly forward and when you go over a grave they will cross. Not go around and around. Now to check the sex. Use one rod straight out and walk and when you cross over it will go to the head for female and foot for male. With this method you can check for children and infants.
For the last 15 years I have been doing this when we have a burial. Before this they buried so many on top or even pulled up clothes and bones. You know polyester clothes last. I have tried to teach this and most of my family were able but there was some people that had the same results as you and Dan. I’m in Oklahoma and would make trip to Georgia and teach you. It has helped me with marking graves.

You know Dans going to be carrying those with him from now on. He’s almost an expert!

It works. My friend uses that method in a cemetery that she takes care of.

I don’t know much about the rods, but the video was fun to watch.

I heard it can be accurate with some experience. I never knew about male and female graves. Very interesting. My great grandfather occasionally was asked by farmers and and other landowners who found out about his ability to find water for them to dig new wells. One story said an annoyed landowner had to dig a lot deeper than usual after Gramp said there was water at a spot. Owner was dumbfounded when water was finally struck. Dan will get the hang of it eventually 😂 Great video!

Robert, I think it may have something to do with the person doing the dowsing. If you don't believe in what you do...they don't work. But it was fun to watch.
P.S. They are also used to find water.
Take care.
