The original Aunt Viv (no disrespect to Ms. Maxwell Reid) Janet Hubert-Whitten, was, hands down, my favorite character on TV during that time. I also think most people would also echo my sentiments that her character reached the audience in a way that, frankly, Clair Huxtable never really did.
