Think of night furies and light furies as dogs. A German shepherd and a poodle are both dogs, but different breeds. They are both furies, but different breeds

Three light furies are visible in the hidden world because if you look at when hiccup goes there to find toothless, you see a light fury. The light fury you see flying down by the waterfall has a different tail than the other one. Also, if 2 species can mate, they aren’t separate species, but subspecies or the same species

Second "fact" is incorrect. A bit if tape got stuck on one of the animators cats and they decided it would be perfect to make Toothless do the exact same thing.
It wasnt in purpose, but they decided to use it for reference
