Tender tale on the transformative nature of love

Humble, unassuming Ma and timid Cao have been cast off by their families and forced into an arranged marriage. They have to combine their strength and build a home to survive. Return to Dust, a movie that had been generating buzz in China as a sleeper hit, was unceremoniously pulled from streaming services in the country yesterday, according to multiple reports on social media. Mentioning the film on Weibo, China’s equivalent to Twitter, has even been banned.

Gorgeous movie and so well-done. Let me with such a feeling of softness and fragility throughout the viewing.

It feels like a realistic view of rural life of the poor people in China. It seems to oppose the CCP claims that poverty has been eliminated.

The poster of this movie is absolutely beautiful with the swallow (I saw it on IMDB).
And the CCP doesn't like this movie, so it must be very very good and close to reality.

China should not be ashamed about poverty, as if it was not for the new PRC, all of China would still be like that.
That low-cost areas are still very safe and people are honest, compare that to slums in Brazil or South Africa, there you may not come out alive.
200Million have been lifted out of poverty in 10years, some mountains rural areas are still left to be fixed.

I don't understand why the Chinese government thought this film to be embarrassing and banned it. In the film, the couple received a free apartment from a government welfare program.
