Alright time to address the recent wave of requests to cover the UX cover letter question. How should you write one? and should you even bother writing one? As a UX team and hiring manager, I have to review a ton of applications and could count only a few instances of encountering cover letters in the process. Did they make a difference? In this video, I'll explain a few things to consider in terms of investing time in the writing process, as well as share my cover letter from the past used in an actual job application over half a decade ago.

🙌 If you like this video, you'll definitely like what comes next;

🚀. I started this channel in 2018 to upskill my design team on user experience methods, rapid UX prototyping, service design, and more at a scale. Gladly the material I use is also relevant for other people across the globe (like yourself).

🧔 Who am I: UX research and design team manager, experience design lead, strategist, and design educator. I love complex services, enterprise UX tools, human decision support and AI tools.

Great video! Thanks for covering my question. I don't think there's anything like this on YouTube. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for sharing - I wondered, did this cover letter get you hired at this company with just this company or did you mimic this for other cover letters with companies?

I hear some valid points. However, this is a top-notch fancy word that you used, and if somebody doesn't usually use that word. Would it make sense while giving an interview? i.e., flyby?

Hi, @vaexperience. I was told interviews usually come before surveys. In your cover letter, it looks like a survey was proposed as the first research method. Could you explain your rationale? Isn't secondary research and competitive analysis (from previous User Research, Analytics and so on) or heuristic evaluation usually the starting point to find problems and opportunities? I am super curious to hear from you.... Still learning about the criteria when deciding on research methods and priorities. Tkss

@vaexperience Hey, have finished my second ux project. Is 2 case studies enough to land a junior ux designer role or 3 is a bare minimum?
