Trois immenses compositeurs voient le jour en 1685 : Jean-Sébastien Bach, Domenico Scarlatti et Georg Friedrich Haendel. La pianiste Anne Queffélec célèbre ce merveilleux cru en interprétant des œuvres piochées dans le répertoire de ces trois mastodontes du répertoire baroque.

En plus de leur année de naissance Bach, Scarlatti et Haendel ont en commun un goût pour le voyage et le métissage : Bach l’Allemand s’est laissé imprégner par les styles français et italiens, Scarlatti l’Italien a largement puisé son inspiration du côté de l’Espagne et du Portugal tandis que Haendel (le plus italiens des compositeurs allemands) a profondément marqué la création musicale britannique.

C’est cette créativité bouillonnante et sans frontière emblématique du XVIIème siècle que souligne ici Anne Queffélec.

What a tender and sensitive programme of seamless music. Just so typical of La belle Anne. Before I came to live the rest of my life in France, over 20 years ago, Anne Queffélec was a regular on the BBC's classical music radio station in Britain, Radio 3. Imagine my delight when she came to perform in the summer concert series in the village of Limeuil, overlooking the confluence of the Vézère and Dordogne Rivers . . . . but then - in the interval I was asked if I would present her bouquet, and some words of thanks! I was confident enough in the ways of my new French friends and neighbours to know that a 'bisou' would be accepted, even on this first acquaintance . . . and so admitted to her that the undoubted highlight of my summer was that I got to kiss Anne Queffélec, whom I so admired! Interprétation remarquable de la sonate de Beethoven. L'adagio, qui est un puits de douleur, est rendu avec finesse et profondeur. La fugue est superbe de clarté. On sent dans cette interprétation une grande compréhension sans aucune sécheresse et avec la puissance juste nécessaire. Bravo, c'est tout à fait remarquable.
