This seems like it would be suitable for say a Plex media storage, no? Since you don’t really need fast write or read speeds for watching media? I recently got a large capacity HDD but it just makes a bit too much noise for me at night, so I’m looking into a large capacity SSD (tho not as big as the 22TB HDD I tried) to hold my media library to watch from.

Yea speed matters less when the SSD is used to back up your house's data. I edc a T7 but this EASILY replaced my 4tb mybook

I'm having exactly the same and using on mac.Runs amazing, except the startup time, for some reason after just connecting it it runs super slow, after about 15 minutes it is running perfect... no overheating etc.. How ever I been wondering i may having a slow after connect issue just because i formatted it to apfs? should I use the default exfat? which format are you using for mac?

Its a pointless product. I need a large ssd for 6k prores raw footage but at 480MB speed you can not edit from it, its too slow and just for storage you dont need ssd. Anyone looking for 8TB will need it for editing and it hardly will be in full hd... 480mb, its not 2016!
